Soundscape

Topic: Soundscape

Purpose: Students were asked to translate a piece of instrumental music into a 3D composition.

Approach: For this assignment, I chose the music piece "Qkthr." Inspired by the song's melancholy tone fading in and out in repetition, I chose to use a repeated shape made from bristle board paper to create movement by changing their proportion to each other. To further translate my interpretation, I splattered dark paint over my composition, specifically focusing on the center of each shape, to create a somber, nostalgic feeling within the music.
